Transparency first
Chazzer is a credential custodian — not a verification agency. Here's exactly what that means, how we operate, and what "verified" actually means on a Chazzer profile.
A title company holds property documents between buyer, seller, and bank — it doesn't appraise the property. Chazzer works the same way: we hold confirmed credentials between the candidate and whoever they share with. We store. We don't investigate.
Whoever issued the credential is who confirms it. Employers confirm employment. Licensing boards confirm licenses. Institutions confirm degrees. Where official government databases exist, we query them directly. No middleman interpretation.
Once a source confirms a credential, Chazzer seals it. The candidate can display it but can't change it — which is exactly the point. Confirmed records travel with the candidate from job to job, permanently.
Here's what that looks like in practice — the most common credential, work history, confirmed step by step. ↓
The worker adds their employer, job title, and dates to their Chazzer profile. They also provide an HR contact email — but no email is sent yet.
When ready, the candidate clicks "Request employer verification." Chazzer generates a unique, one-time secure link and emails it directly to the HR contact.
The HR contact receives a branded email from Chazzer explaining the request. They see exactly what the candidate claimed and can correct anything before confirming.
The employer confirms the title, dates, and whether the candidate is eligible for rehire. They provide their name and title as the confirming party. No account required.
Once submitted, the job entry flips to "Employer-confirmed" with the responder's name and title displayed. The candidate gets a notification. Zero Chazzer staff involved.
Zero staff touchpoints. The entire work history verification flow is automated end-to-end. No Chazzer employee reads the email, routes the request, or approves the result. The employer and the candidate are the only humans involved.
An HR contact or supervisor at the listed employer submitted a direct response confirming this employment. Their name and title are on record.
A registrar, licensing board, or credentialing body confirmed this degree or certification directly.
A verification request has been sent. Awaiting a response from the employer or institution.
The candidate added this entry but has not yet requested verification, or the verification request was not completed.
Everything you need to know about how Chazzer operates.
"Verified" means the employer, institution, or issuing authority directly confirmed that information — not Chazzer. When a candidate lists a job, Chazzer sends a secure email to the contact they provide at that company. The employer clicks the link, reviews the details, and submits their confirmation. That response is stored by Chazzer and displayed on the candidate's profile with the confirming party's name and title. Chazzer is the custodian of that confirmation — not the party making it.
No. Chazzer does not call employers, query databases, or investigate claims on its own. We build the infrastructure for qualified sources to confirm information directly — and we maintain the chain of custody for every confirmation. Each verified entry records who confirmed it, their name, title, and when. That record is sealed once submitted and cannot be altered by anyone, including the candidate. The integrity of that chain is what gives a Chazzer profile its credibility.
The candidate provides a contact email for HR, a direct supervisor, or a manager at each company. Chazzer sends that person a secure, one-time link with the candidate's claimed information pre-filled. The employer reviews, corrects anything inaccurate, and submits. Their name and title are then displayed on the candidate's public profile as the confirming party. No Chazzer staff member reads, routes, or approves that response.
The entry stays in "Pending" status. The candidate can send one automated reminder after 7 days. If there's still no response, the entry remains self-reported (gray badge) and doesn't contribute to the candidate's verified count. Chazzer never marks something verified without a direct response from the employer.
Absolutely. Employers are not obligated to respond and are told so clearly in the verification email. If they're uncertain about their authority to confirm, they're encouraged to decline or forward to the appropriate person. No-response means no verification — which is the right outcome.
Two things. First, we display the confirming party's name and title on the public profile — a savvy employer will notice if the confirmer doesn't sound like a real HR contact. Second, Chazzer flags responses where the email domain doesn't match the claimed employer name, and we reserve the right to add additional anti-fraud signals over time. The model is designed to make honest responses easier than fraudulent ones.
It's stored securely on Chazzer's servers (Supabase, hosted on AWS). The confirming party's name and title are displayed publicly on the candidate's profile. Their email address is stored but never displayed publicly and is only used for follow-up if needed. No employer data is sold or shared with third parties.
The process is similar — Chazzer sends a secure email to the registrar, licensing board, or issuing authority that the candidate provides. The recipient confirms or corrects the details directly. For boards and institutions that have public lookup tools, Chazzer will eventually support automated queries — but human confirmation via the email token model is always the fallback.
Chazzer is a record custodian, not a guarantor of truth. We store and display exactly what the confirming party submitted, attributed to them by name and title. If a confirming party provides inaccurate information, the record reflects what they attested to — and who attested to it. Chazzer's role is to maintain the integrity of that chain: ensuring the confirmation came from the stated party, was recorded accurately, and cannot be altered after the fact.
Sending verification requests is included in standard Chazzer plans. In the future we may offer a premium verification service where Chazzer takes a more active role (e.g., calling registrars, using third-party databases) at an additional cost — but that will always be opt-in and clearly distinguished from the standard employer-confirmed model.
Yes, if a former or current employee listed you as a reference in their Chazzer profile. The email will come from verify@chazzer.me and contain a secure link unique to this candidate. You are not obligated to respond. If you have any doubt, you can email verify@chazzer.me to confirm the request before clicking any links.
